Job Title:                     Coordinator for Ministry with Youth and Young Adults

Reports to:                  Vice President of Mission, Advocacy and Programs

Position Summary:

The Coordinator for Ministry with Youth and Young Adults has primary responsibility for coordinating DHM’s intergenerational engagement in the areas of ministry with youth and ministry with young adults. This is a collaborative position that works with other ministries within DHM, congregations, regions, and other general ministries of the wider church, to help facilitate and promote faithful, creative leader development with youth and young adults.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • In consultation with the VP of Mission, Advocacy and Programs, produce, curate, and distribute educational and faith formation content for youth and young adults that is both digital and downloadable.
  • Work with the DHM Leadership to encourage, expand, and support networking, and peer-to-peer learning amongst persons working with youth and young adults in congregations, regions, and general ministries across the wider church in sustainable ways.
  • Promote and collaborate on opportunities for youth and young adults to engage in advocacy and justice work.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented, and skilled at managing multiple priorities easily.
  • A passion for working with youth and young adults.
  • Self-starter and the ability to work unsupervised.
  • Strong computer and internet skills; proficiency with MS Office, Teams, and other workplace productivity software.
  • Enthusiasm and willingness to learn new things.
  • Flexibility and effective time-management, while maintaining superior work quality.
  • Routine reporting

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master level degree strongly preferred.
  • Applicants with degrees in the areas of theology, ministry, religious studies, etc. will be strongly considered.
  • Significant experience and knowledge of current best practices in the field ministry with youth and young adults.
  • Experience designing events and establishing community partnerships.
  • Success in building networks and strong relationships
  • A keen awareness of intergenerational ministry.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • No supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment:

  • This position is deployed with the ability to work remotely.

Physical Requirement:

  • The physical demands require occasional lifting of up to 40 lbs.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Travel Requirement:

  • A moderate amount of travel is required for this position.
